Staff have online learning to complete at the start of their employment at Church Farm Care and this continues throughout their employment with the company.
The e-learning courses are tailored to the staff members role to ensure that they have the knowledge and understanding to underpin their day-to-day work within the home.
E-learning courses include H&S awareness, safeguarding of adult’s awareness, equality, diversity and human rights and dementia care.
In addition to the e-learning courses staff have access to a range of webinars which cover a variety of topics.
Employees have various opportunities within Church Farm Care to develop themselves (depending on eligibility criteria) and have the option to complete different short-term and longer-term courses.
Short course options include:
CPI training, known as safety intervention training
People Matter training – specialist dementia care training
Fire warden/marshal training First aid at work
Moving and handling train the trainer
Courses to become champions in IDSSI, Infection control, fire warden, falls, LGBTQ+, EDI and moving and handling
Longer-term course options include:
Apprenticeships and diplomas in health and social care (levels 2 & 3), these courses are designed for Care Assistants looking to further their skills and knowledge in their role and perform their role to the highest standard. The level 3 qualification also allows Care Assistants to apply for promotion to Senior Care Assistants at Church Farm Care (depending on eligibility and vacancies). The level 3 course credits can also be used towards an application to an access to nursing course or nursing associate course.
Level 5 Leadership and Management in health and social care is for Home Managers, Deputy Managers, Clinical Leads and Nurses interested in progression into management roles. This course is designed to improve the skills of current and future managers working in the adult social care environment.
Staff can discuss any training opportunities with their line manager during their regular supervision meetings.
